Independent SEND Advocate, Consultant & Mentor

Supporting Families and Young People Through Their SEND Journey

Navigating SEND can feel overwhelming, whether you're seeking support with an EHCP, understanding your child's needs, exploring EOTAS provision, preparing for a SEND Tribunal, or looking for mentoring support for yourself or your young person.

At Guiding SEND Families, I provide practical SEND advocacy, parent mentoring, consultancy, EOTAS support, and specialist mentoring for young people.

With 19 years of professional experience, alongside lived experience as a neurodivergent parent, I understand the challenges families face and the importance of support that is personalised, compassionate and practical.

My aim is to empower families with the knowledge, confidence and guidance they need to navigate the SEND system, advocate effectively, and achieve positive outcomes for their child or young person.

Your Journey With Us

Step 1: Complete the Initial Consultation Form

The first step is to complete the Initial Consultation Form. This provides an opportunity for you to share information about your child or young person, your current circumstances, and the support you are seeking. Guiding SEND Families Initial Enquiry & Information Form – Fill in form

Step 2: Arrange an Initial Meeting

Following receipt of your consultation form, I will review the information provided and, where appropriate, arrange an initial meeting. This can take place either online via Microsoft Teams or face-to-face, depending on your preference and location.

Step 3: Receive Working Agreement and Cost Information

Prior to the initial meeting, you will receive all relevant working agreement documentation. This will outline how we will work together, expectations of both parties, confidentiality arrangements, and the associated costs for the services being provided.

Step 4: Review of Information and Documentation

To ensure I have a full understanding of your circumstances, I may request further information, supporting documentation, or clarification before our meeting. This helps me gain a clearer picture of your child or young person's needs and the support you are seeking.

Step 5: Initial Consultation Meeting

During the initial meeting, we will discuss your circumstances in greater detail, explore the challenges you are facing, identify priorities, and consider how I may be able to support you and your family moving forward.

Step 6: Agreeing Next Steps

Following the meeting, if you wish to proceed, we will agree on the most appropriate support based on your family's individual needs. This may include SEND advocacy, EHCP support, EOTAS guidance and package development, attendance at meetings, support with education, health and social care processes, mentoring for parents, or mentoring and support for young people.

Ongoing Support

Once support has commenced, I will work alongside you to help you understand processes, advocate effectively for your child or young person, build confidence, and navigate the SEND system. Support is tailored to your circumstances and reviewed as needs change.

Supporting families. Empowering young people.
Creating positive outcomes.
